We invite you to join us for the 2009 Women's Retreat: Completely His at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Resort! We are excited to have Gloria Baird as our keynote speaker. She is a faithful example of a woman Loving Jesus Without Limits. Our program will also include classes on having a godly character in our various roles as women, learning to use our gifts in our service to Him, along with devotionals, fun activities and fellowship opportunities as we seek to better understand how we can be "Completely His."

On Sunday, January 18th the women of the Phoenix Valley Church of Christ gathered together for an inspirational workshop. The workshop was centered around our theme for the year from 1 John 4:19, "We love because He first loved us." It was a great time of fellowship and of worship. Our congregational Women's Ministry Leader, Gail Sciascia, delivered a powerful lesson based on the Samaritan woman in John 4. She inspired the women to see the power of being loved by Jesus, the power to witness through sharing our personal testimony, and the power to open our eyes to see all the ways that God wants to use us and help others.

On Saturday, October 11, volunteers from PVCC participated in a HOPE day of service at Children First Academy in downtown Phoenix. Children First Academy is a school targeting kids who are homeless or underprivileged. 180 volunteers served and entertained over 370 parents and kids at the event. The event included numerous carnival-like games with prizes, inflatibles for the kids, lunch for all attendees, snacks and treats, music and entertainment, face painting, and beauty services including haircuts, nails, and pedicures. The day of service helped the school enroll 17 new students, which translates into approximately $60,000 of additional funding for the school. Children First Academy accepts a variety of donations; more information is available at their website: http://childrenfirst.edkey.org. Thank you to all who participated and helped make this a great day!
